A Perspective Shift from The Met

 
Some of our Philly team caught Jay Shetty live at The Met for his On Purpose podcast taping with Big Sean. And yes, the energy was electric. But what stopped us in our tracks was this one line:
“Our idea of ourselves isn't based on what we think of ourselves... or what others think of us… it’s based on what we think others think of us.”
It hits, right? Like a mirror shattering in slow motion. How many of us are walking around, weighed down by projections we made up in our heads?
Jay went on to say he dislikes the cliché advice to “just be yourself”—because most of us haven’t even met our real selves. We’ve just been reacting to the world’s feedback loop.
So here’s the shift:
